Shehu Sani Questions Authenticity of ADC Opposition Coalition

Date:

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, Today asserted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) opposition coalition carries the “DNA” of both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Sani made the remark while emphasizing that the ADC coalition is not fundamentally different from the two major political parties. The coalition recently formalized ADC as its official platform.

The opposition coalition includes notable figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal, former Senate President David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Rotimi Amaechi, and several other prominent politicians.

In a post on X, Sani wrote: “Some people came with the DNA of the ruling party and some with the DNA of the PDP and gave birth to the coalition. And you say that baby is different.”

The former senator’s comments highlight ongoing debates about the authenticity and distinctiveness of emerging opposition alliances ahead of upcoming elections.
