Nigerian Skit Maker Mr Sanku Dies in Car Crash

Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has died following a car accident in Ibadan.

The crash occurred in the early hours of Monday along the Oyo–Ogbomoso road. Eyewitness reports and images shared online showed that the vehicle veered off the road and landed in a ditch.

Sanku was traveling with a friend at the time of the accident. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital but were pronounced dead hours later.

The comedian, who began his content creation career in 2021, gained a following for his distinctive storytelling style and humorous skits.

Tributes poured in across social media after news of his death spread, with fans and fellow entertainers expressing shock and grief.

Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa, in a post on Instagram, said she initially received reports that Sanku was responding to treatment at Bowen Hospital. She added that despite her prayers and hopes for his recovery, he did not survive.

Mr Sanku Comedy had built a loyal audience on social media, where his work was widely shared and celebrated. His passing adds to the growing list of young Nigerian entertainers lost to road accidents in recent years.

DJ Cuppy Reacts to Wedding Photos Online

Popular Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress, DJ Cuppy, has expressed frustration over still being unmarried at age 33, despite her professional and academic accomplishments. The Oxford-educated entertainer shared her concerns in a recent post on her X (formerly Twitter) handle.

“Making it big… but mother of Dúdú and FünFün, no husband, with plenty suitors in my DMs and none can even spell Pomeranian,” she wrote, highlighting her disappointment with the quality of her suitors.

Cuppy, who has previously admitted to struggling with spelling herself, noted the irony of attracting suitors who share the same issue, which she finds off-putting. She also revealed that wedding photos on social media often prompt her to remind God of her single status.

Her comments come over a year after her highly publicized engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor ended in 2023. Since then, DJ Cuppy has continued to express her desire to settle down.

VeryDarkMan Rejects N120m Fight Offer, Demands $1 Million

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has turned down a N120 million offer from music executive Soso Soberekon for a proposed boxing match with singer Portable, calling the proposal “disrespectful.”

In a video shared via Instagram on Sunday, VeryDarkMan criticized the offer and insisted that he would only consider the match for a minimum of $1 million.

The proposal followed an ongoing online feud between Portable and VeryDarkMan, which has included public insults and viral video exchanges. Soso Soberekon reportedly made the offer in an attempt to turn the conflict into a pay-per-view boxing event.

Reacting to the idea, VeryDarkMan recounted rejecting a $100,000 offer to fight American rapper 50 Cent in 2024, claiming he had demanded $1 million due to the disparity in proposed payouts.

“It was supposed to be the biggest event in Africa. 50 Cent was to be paid $5 million, and they offered me $100,000—I refused,” he said, adding that prominent personalities like Tunde Ednut and the Boxing Federation president, Omo-Agege, were involved in early negotiations.

He also stated that another fight offer came earlier in 2025 after his return from China, but the financial terms again failed to meet his expectations.

Regarding Soberekon’s latest offer, he said: “N100 million cannot even buy a good house in Abuja. It’s disrespectful. If you want me to fight, bring $500,000 first before we even talk.”

He accused Soberekon of using his name for publicity without genuine intent or capacity to deliver the funds, warning him to stop referencing him online.

“If you don’t have that money, please don’t put my name on your page again,” VeryDarkMan said.

There has been no official response from Soso Soberekon at the time of reporting.

Jarvis Confirms Real Relationship With Peller

Popular Nigerian TikTok creator, Elizabeth Amadou—better known by her AI alter ego “Jarvis”—has officially confirmed her engagement to fellow content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller.

In a recent interview with Jarvis revealed that although she initially doubted their compatibility, she came to appreciate Peller’s real-life personality, which she described as “cool” and “more than I thought.”

“The engagement part… yes, that’s true. He actually engaged me, shockingly,” she said, admitting that the ring didn’t fit but is kept safe at home for sentimental reasons.

Jarvis disclosed that her first impression of Peller was shaped by his online persona, but spending time with him in real life changed her perception. “You cannot judge someone online… until I met him in real life and I saw that he had a character offline,” she said.

Initially brushing off his advances as part of their content creation, Jarvis said she later realized his interest was genuine. “With time, I got to find out that he was actually into me, so I grew to love or like him,” she said.

She also addressed public doubts about the authenticity of their relationship, stating that what fans see in their videos—whether playful or confrontational—is real and unscripted.

“Our reality is real. So people take our reality as content, but it’s actually real. Whatever fight, argument, play—everything—it’s real. There is no faking there,” she said.

While confirming the engagement, Jarvis acknowledged the need to treat future aspects of their relationship more seriously and with some privacy.

“Marriage is something serious and we should not joke around too much online. I don’t think people or family actually take us seriously,” she noted.

Burna Boy Says He Once Felt “More Jamaican” Than Nigerian

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that during a period of his life, he strongly identified with Jamaican culture, even feeling “more Jamaican” than Nigerian.

In an interview with Capital Xtra in London, Burna Boy explained that his connection to Jamaica began in childhood, influenced by the music his father played, including artists like Super Cat. This bond deepened when he later studied in Brixton, UK, where he was surrounded by Jamaicans and Caribbeans.

“Jamaica has always been a part of me—from my dad playing Super Cat and stuff when I was a kid to me ending up in Brixton,” he said. “I considered myself more Jamaican at the time simply because everyone around me was Jamaican and Caribbean.”

The Afro-fusion star added that there were very few Nigerians in his immediate circle during that period. “Even the Africans that were my guys were not Nigerians. They were Gambians, Ugandans, and Congolese. There were only two Nigerians in my crew.”

Burna Boy noted the contrast between his life in the UK and his identity at home, stating, “When I go back home to Nigeria, then I’m really a Nigerian. But when I was here, I’m Jamaican.”

He has previously described Jamaica as “home” and often cites the country’s culture and music as major influences on his artistic style, particularly reggae and dancehall.

Burna Boy’s ties to Jamaica extended beyond music. He was in a high-profile relationship with British-Jamaican rapper Stefflon Don from 2019 to 2021.

The singer’s blend of Afrobeat with reggae and dancehall has helped shape his international sound and connect him with diverse global audiences.

SAD….. Famous rapper commits suicide at 34

Riky Rick has reportedly passed on at the age of 34.

He was a famous South African rapper, ROYAL NEWS reports.

The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear, but some South African tabloids and online reports are claiming he committed suicide by hanging.

Rick born Rikhado Makhado allegedly took his life at his estate home in the north of Johannesburg on Wednesday morning 23 February.

According to Sunday World, a source close to the situation alleged that the rapper was found by his management team at about 8.30am.

Riky Rick who once revealed that he was struggling with depression last tweeted: “I’ll return a stronger man. This land is my home.”

Speaking on his podcast Lab Live in 2020 the award-winning rapper opened up about losing his father saying grief had put him in a ‘dark space’.

He said: “I lost my father at a time when I needed the help. I lost him at a time when I needed that voice. A lot of people don’t understand that you can never replace the voice of a father. It wasn’t like he just died, it was like 18 years, living with your dad for a year, and then going back to your mom. I love being with my mom but living with him for a year. A child is never meant to live without his parents.”

Riky Rick’s family is yet to release a statement but fellow artists and friends of the rapper have started sharing condolence messages.
