    The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji ( Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has admonished intending Pilgrims on Lesser Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to pray fervently for peace and harmony to continue to reign in the country.

    He added that peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and prevention of breakdown of law and order are the major catalysts that can facilitate the actualization of the desired growth in nation.

    Alhaji Sulu-Gambari stated this in a goodwill message issued on Monday by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, stressing that, “I urge you all to use this auspicious occasion of Umrah pilgrimage to intensify effort for fervent prayers for Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, Nigeria and humanity at large for the actualization of global peace amidst ongoing tension and insecurity among other social vices.

    He also appealed to Pilgrims from Kwara State and Nigerians in general to be good Ambassadors of the nation throughout their stay in Makkah and Madinnah and shun all acts capable of labeling and projecting Nigeria in bad image.

    He also sent his goodwill messages to Muslim Ummah whose intention is to perform Itikhaf in jumat mosques across the country, besieging Almighty to make it easy for them with absolute acceptance and maximum rewards.

    The Emir therefore prayed for a successful Umrah exercise in sound health and Allah’s providence as well as protect the family members they left behind at home.

    The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Amb. Dr. Ahmed Olatunji Sulu-Gambari on his posting as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Malaysia.

     

    He also extended his goodwill messages to the entire Ambassadors and High Commissioners that are recently appointed and newly posted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

     

    This is contained in a statement issued at the weekend by the Emir’s Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona.

     

    The monarch described the posting as a welcome development stressing that Ambassador Sulu-Gambari will foster and sustain harmonious working and trade relations between Nigeria and Malaysia through quality representation.

     

    Alhaji Sulu-Gambari however expressed confidence in the ability of the new envoy to raise the bar in his new assignment owing to his track records of excellent performances which described him as a Foreign Affairs Expert, Diplomat and Patriotic Nigerian.

     

    He therefore prayed Almighty Allah to continue to strengthen all the envoys and the entire staff of Nigerian diplomatic missions globally in order to achieve and attract more opportunities to Nigeria.

    Hajia Adama, the widow of the late Professor Yusuf Lanre Badmas, the former Dean of Post Graduate School, University of Ilorin, is dead.

    ROYAL NEWS gathered that Hajia Adama died on Wednesday and would be buried today (Thursday) at Maimasa Compound, Oja-gboro Ilorin at 9am.

     

    Recall that her husband, Prof. Badmas died recently in a Lagos Hospital after brief illness.

     

    He was described as a fantastic academician by many people including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR and the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR for his contributions to the propagation of Islam, scholarships and mentorship in Nigeria.

    The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed deep sadness over the demise of a foremost promoter of Islamic da’awah, Hajia Mualimatu Rihanat Arowolo, who died on Sunday 22nd February 2026.

    The Emir disclosed that, “The deseased was a distinguished member of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria worldwide, a great Mother, philanthropist par excellence, a prominent member of the Alasalatu Women Group in Kwara State and a mentor to both the old and younger generations of women folks.

    In a condolence message issued on Monday by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir eulogised the virtues of late Mualimatu Arowolo for living an exemplary life of emulation for the many ‘Jihads’ that she did during her lifetime.

    While accepting the incident with total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari added that “Mualimatu Arowolo’s demise is a great loss to the entire Muslim Ummah especially, the Ilorin Emirate Muslim women as well as the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria stressing that, “she dedicated her entire life to da’awah and mentorship. Indeed, her death has marked the end of an era in da’awah activities in the Ilorin Emirate. ”

    The Emir however sent his heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended family members of late Mualimatu Rihanat Arowolo, Kwara State Muslim Women, the Alasalatu groups who benefited immensely from her guidance, mentorship and religious activities for many decades, the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah for the great and irreparable loss.

    He therefore prayed Almighty Allah to comfort her families, grant her absolute forgiveness, accept her good deeds and admit her into Aljanatul Firdaus.

    The leadership of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Emirate Radio 98.5 FM, Ilorin, in a move aimed at fostering collaboration and promoting growth within the media landscape.
    Led by its Chairman, Alhaji Biola Azeez, the union expressed joy over the official commissioning of the Radio station stressing the establishment of Emirate 98.5 FM is testimony of hardwork and dedication which will further boost professionalism in Radio broadcasting in the state.
    Other members of the Executives are; the Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Alege, Secretary, Mosunmola Abayomi, Treasurer,  Afusat Agunbiade, Financial Secretary, Sikirat Shehu and Oluseyi Dasilva as well as the Assistant Secretary, Ibrahim Alagunmu.

    In his remarks, Mr. Biola Azeez noted that th union will continue to strengthen the existing relationship between the correspondent Chapel and the Radio in the areas of news gathering and reporting.
    He however prayed for the station to continue to growth and become the leading Radio Platform in the state.

    In his response, CEO of Emirate 98.5 FM, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, warmly welcomed the journalists and highlighted the critical roles of media professionals in shaping perspectives and opinions.

    The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has rejoiced with Etsu Patigi, in Patigi Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, on his 44th birthday anniversary.

     

    In a goodwill message issued on Sunday by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described Etsu Bologi II as a committed Traditional Ruler who is dedicated to the advancement of the interest of his subjects.

     

    Alhaji Sulu-Gambari noted that “as the 7th Etsu Patigi and Vice Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Umar Bologi II , has over the years demonstrated patriotism and competence to the socio-economic growth, preservation of culture and heritage of the people of Patigi.

     

    “On behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Council Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari extended the greetings and solidarity of monarchs across the state to Etsu Bologi II and prayed Almighty Allah to grant him more years of comforts, peace and accomplishments on earth.”

     

    Alhaji Sulu-Gambari therefore appealed to the entire people of Patigi community, the Patigi Emirate Council, authority of Patigi Local government area, government and people of Kwara State to continue to support the monarch in order to sustain the peaceful coexistence in his domain and beyond.

    The World Assembly for Graduates of Al-Azhar University Cairo, Kwara State chapter, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Emirate FM 98.5, for further reinforce strong ties between the media and local Islamic organizations.

     

    The delegation, led by the association’s president, Professor Saliu Jumuat Alaso and the Vice President, Barr. Abdulmumeen Shuaib Ori-Okoh.

     

    Others are; the legal adviser, Barr. Ibrahim Jetti, as well as the public relations officer, Ustaz Kamaldeen Sahadallah.

     

    In his remarks, Professor Alaso congratulated the station’s chairman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, on the successful launch of Emirate FM, calling it a milestone for both the chairman and the state.

     

    He also emphasized the association’s commitments in addressing societal challenges and upholding the core values of Islam ans seek for strong collaboration in the areas of promoting morality and values in the society.

     

    In his response, Dr. Arowona thanked the association for their visit and commended their ongoing work across Kwara while expressing gratitude for the visit and for the association’s continued partnership in community development.

    The Aniwo of Afin, a community in the Ile-Ire District of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, Oba Simeon Ibiyinka Olaonipekun, has safely regained his freedom amid the ongoing security operations to curb banditry in the state.

    ROYAL NEWS reports that the monarch was abducted from his palace on December 31, 2025, in a raid where his wife was reportedly shot.

    Checks revealed that his son was later released after a ransom was paid.

    Recall that the incident of his abduction occurred late on Wednesday night, on new years eve, when a group of about eight gunmen allegedly stormed the palace around 8pm, shooting sporadically and demanding to see the monarch and his wife.
