Islamic Militants have released a video of six foreign hostages kidnapped in the last attack by an al-Qaida-linked group Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen, in Mali.
The video showed Stephen McGowan of South Africa, Elliot Kenneth Arthur of Australia, Iulian Ghergut of Romania, Beatrice Stockly of Switzerland, Gloria Cecilia Narvaez of Colombia and Sophie Petronin of France.
A SITE Intelligence Group said the recently formed Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen was behind the video released on Telegram on Saturday.
The development came hours to the arrival of French President Emmanuel Macron in Mali for an anti-terror summit.
Macron is scheduled to meet on Sunday with heads of state from five nations across Africa’s Sahel region to build support for a new 5,000-strong multinational force meant to counter extremists.
Meanwhile, negotiations are yet to take place between the terrorist group and countries of those held hostage.
