Three members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegation from Kebbi State have died in a road accident while traveling to attend the party’s recent national convention in Abuja.
The victims were identified as Hadiza Sabo Warrah, a councillor representing Warrah Ward; Sahabi Alheri, councillor for Birnin Yauri Ward in Ngaski Local Government Area; and Abubakar Sadiq, Senior Special Assistant to the Kebbi State Governor on social media.
According to a statement from the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Yahaya Sarki, the accident occurred when the victims were struck by a moving vehicle while attempting to cross the road. Their vehicle had reportedly stopped along the route during the journey to the Federal Capital Territory.
All three sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, Sarki confirmed.
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, expressed shock over the incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
The governor described their deaths as a significant loss to the state, highlighting their contributions to local development, and prayed for forgiveness and eternal rest for the victims.
