The Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hon. Hanatu Musawa, has assured the Emir and the people of the Ilorin Emirate of her readiness to attend the upcoming 2025 Ilorin Emirate Durbar Festival.
The Minister gave this assurance on Friday,May 9, 2025 while hosting the Chairman of Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engr Suleiman Yahaya Alapansanpa,FNSE at Eko Hotel, Lagos.
ROYAL NEWS gathered that the Minister was joined to receive Engr Alapansanpa by her Special Assistant, Mr Abiola, and the wife of the Zanna of Ilorin, Hajia Faridah Sagaya.
Hon. Musawa said that she has been personally following the progress being recorded at the annual cultural festival since it was reintroduced as she commended the Organising Committee for always improving on their previous performance.
The Minister, who described the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,CFR, as her late father’s friend, assured that she and her team would also attend this year’s Bareke and Durbar to show her personal support and that of the Federal Government to the two annual cultural programmes.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engr. Alapansanpa, said that the visit was to formally invite the Minister and the Federal Government to this year’s Ilorin Emirate Durbar.
Engr Alapansanpa said that Ilorin Emirate Durbar is quite different from others because of the unique composition of the people of Ilorin Emirate as he assured the Minister and other expected guests of a very memorable event.
