The duo of Dr. Halimah Funmilayo Babamale of the Department of Industrial Chemistry, and Dr Muhammad Kabir Abdulkadir of the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, have been inducted into the “Hall of Fame” (Sanggar Sajung) of the Universiti Sains, Malaysia (USM).
ROYAL NEWS gathered that the induction was in recognition of their respective research outputs based on the fascinating quality of their published research works in the course of the pursuit of their respective doctorate degrees at the University.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the two scholars on their achievements.
In a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor explained that by the feat, both Dr. Babamale and Dr. Abdulkadir had not only brought honour on themselves but have also attracted more international recognition for the nation’s most sought-after University.
Egbewole said that the performance of the duo has justified the investment of the University on staff development as he assured the University staff that the University would continue to ensure that more of them benefit from relevant local and international trainings.
While urging other staff members to emulate the industry and resilience of Dr. Babamale and Dr. Abdulkadir, which earned them the recognition, the Vice Chancellor wished the two scholars more successes in their respective career paths.
