UNIBEN Alumni Association donates boreholes to university

The Lagos Branch of the Alumni Association of the University of Benin(UNIBEN) has donated two boreholes with two1000 litre -capacity overhead tanks to the institution.

Dr Benedicta Ehanire, Public Relations Officer of UNIBEN, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Benin.

“The boreholes are sited in Hall 1(Female hostel) and Hall 4(Male hostel).

“The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lilian Salami, who commissioned the projects, expressed joy that the Institution’s Alumni have continued to show commitment in the affairs of their alma mater.’’

She urged them not to relent as the present Management was determined to make tangible improvements in the development of the University.

Mr Ikenna Obiasor, President, University of Benin Alumni Association (Worldwide), commended the Vice Chancellor and her team for the visible progress recorded so far.

He said that the Alumni body would be undertaking co-ordinated projects that will be donated to the University from its different branches and the national body at various times.

Mr Stephen Onojeme, Lagos Branch Alumni Association Chairman, intimated Prof. Salami of the resolution of the branch to continuously support the Institution.

“The ceremony was witnessed by Past Presidents of the Alumni Association and other members who are in Benin for the 99th Council Meeting of the Association,’’ the VC said.
