The University of Ilorin has, again, demonstrated its worth as its team was rated among the best 14 teams that participated in the recently concluded global X-Culture contest.
This cheering news was disclosed by the Director, Centre for International Education (CIE), University of Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Onireti Ibraheem, ROYAL NEWS reports.
Prof. Onireti explained that a total of 6,100 students from several countries across the world participated in the contest that was held virtually.
The participants, according to the Director, worked in 1,121 teams with each team consisting of about six members.
He said that a total of 1,118 reports were submitted in the 2024-2 round of the X-Culture competition, adding that the reports were sent out for evaluation to a large group of International Business experts, who are mainly Professors and coaches from around the world.
Onireti explained further that each of the reports was independently evaluated by between three and seven experts along multiple dimensions, such as report creativity, clarity, the viability of the ideas, style, as well as evaluation of each report section. He added that the experts equally provided qualitative feedbacks.
The Director pointed out that based on the experts’ evaluations, 98 teams received nearly perfect evaluations as another set of coaches reevaluated the 98 reports and finally selected the best for each client company.
Accordingly, from the pool of 98 finalists, 14 teams, one of which is Team UNILORIN, were selected as best teams,.
Prof. Onireti said that in appreciation of its scintillating performance, members of the Team UNILORIN will join other finalist teams to receive what he called the “Best Team certificates”.
He added that all the members of the finalist teams will also be invited to the upcoming X-Culture Symposia and X-Culture Coaching Programme, saying that efforts were also being made to interview members of the finalist teams with a view to producing an educational film based on their tips and insights on how to write winning international business reports.
