The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on his 65th birthday.
In a congratulatory message he sent to the Governor, through a statement issued
by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor also rejoiced with Mallam AbdulRazaq, who is also the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, on his achievements in office.
The statement said that the University appreciated the existing cordial relationship it enjoys with its host state right from its establishment in 1975.
The Vice Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), particularly congratulated the Governor on the commissioning of the Tunde Idiagbon Flyover and the rehabilitation of Tafawa Balewa Road, which connects the University to the town.
He said that the projects would definitely ease transportation to and from the University campus, particularly as activities marking its Golden Jubilee would soon commence.
Prof. Egbewole, who is also the Chairman of Consortium of Kwara Universities (KU8+), added that the entire University community is looking forward to continuing positive collaborations with the government and people of Kwara State in furtherance to its Town and Gown commitments.
The Vice Chancellor wished the Governor many more years of sound health and a successful tenure.
