– A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the fundamental rights case filed by counsel to Evans against the Nigeria police

– The court adjourned the case following a fresh application by the Nigeria Police Force

– The court says the counsels are now to argue the new application on the adjourned date, A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos state has adjourned the suit seeking for the fundamental rights of alleged kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, more known as Evans, till September 5. This was against the anticipation that the court would deliver judgement on Tuesday, August 29.

Premium Times reports that the new date for the ruling on the case came after the police brought applications seeking to set aside the delivering of the judgment. According to the court, the counsels for and against the case would have to argue the application on the adjourned date.

Evans has won the first round of his court battle as the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday, August 16 ruled that the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by him can proceed.
