- Finnish Court Remands Ekpa Over Incitement With Terrorist Intent
- IPOB Separatist Accused of Spreading Propaganda Against Nigerian Unity
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Chris Musa, has expressed optimism that Simon Ekpa’s recent arrest in Finland marks progress toward his extradition to Nigeria to face justice.
In a statement by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the CDS commended Finnish authorities for detaining Ekpa, who is accused of inciting violence and promoting separatist propaganda for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
A Finnish court in Lahti ordered Ekpa’s remand on charges of public incitement to commit crimes with terrorist intent, a move seen as significant in Nigeria’s fight against secessionist threats.
