UPDATED: Eminent Nigerians speak as Kinsmen pray for Buhari’s CoS, Prof. Gambari

A special prayer was held in honour of Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, for a successful tenure in office.
The prayer was organised by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chief, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, in line with his tradition of supporting all political appointees and career officers of Ilorin Emirate origin with prayers.
Speaking to journalists, the Zanna of Ilorin, Engr. Yusuf ‘Lanre Sagaya, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his choice of Professor Gambari. He added that the Chief of Staff will perform diligently going by his antecedents as an academician, administrator, diplomat and former Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Sagaya stressed the prayer would have come earlier than now but due to the nationwide lockdown occasioned by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is the tradition of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin to organise such prayer for sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate who have attained excellence for God’s guidance in the discharge of their duties to the nation”, he added.
He however prayed that Allah should grant him more wisdom in order to always guide Mr. President for the good of the nation.
ROYAL NEWS reports that the prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Soliu and other clerics from the Ilorin Emirate and beyond. At the event, the Managing Director/CEO of KAM Holding, Dr. Kamoru Yusuf, prayed that God should grant Prof. Gambari divine wisdom to guide the President in setting good records for the nation.
He also appealed to Nigerians to support the federal government in its quest towards ensuring that dividends of democracy get to the masses in due course.
Also speaking, the former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, (FUT) Minna, Professor Sulyman Adeyemi, urged the federal government to approve the use of virtual learning in addition to physical learning process to accommodate more students in the nation’s institution of higher learning.
The varisty don noted that the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, globally, had made it impossible for physical teaching and learning in schools stressing that adopting virtual learning in addition to other methods would give more people opportunity to access education.
“Since we are now in a digital age the nation should take full advantage of the opportunity”, he added.
