Yobe govt. bags FIRS award over remittance performance

Yobe State won the 2021 Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRSaward among Zone B states as the best performing revenue sender.

Mr. Mohammed Mayanda, FIRS coordinator for the area, made the revelation in Damaturu on Friday when he presented the award to Governor Mai Mala Buni.

The states in the area are Yobe, Borno and Bauchi.

Mayanda said Yobe was an exceptional performer in revenue remittance and had become a role model for other area states to emulate in collation and revenue remittance.

In response, Governor Buni assured that Yobe would continue to live up to expectations and directed federal agencies in the state to maintain synergy between themselves and the state government.
