A youth group, under the auspices of Isanlu-Isin Youth Forum has presented a 300KVA transformer to Isanlu-Isin community in Isin local government of Kwara State, ROYAL NEWS reports.

National Coordinator of the forum, Jacob Ayanda presented the transformer to the Olusin of Isanlu-Isin, Oba Solomon Oloyede on behalf of the youth on Thursday.

Speaking at the presentation, Ayanda said the forum purchased the transformer at the sum of N2.4 million.

Ayanda, who is the Head of Voter Education and Publicity in INEC, said the money was contributed by a good number of the youth from the community.

The gesture, he added was to alleviate the suffering of the indigenes in the area electricity which has been epileptic and the acute shortage of water caused by inadequate power supply.

Ayanda called on the state government to make do with its promise to tar Oke-onigbin – Isanu-Isin road which he said was the pride of the community.

Speaking after receiving the transformer, Oloyede expressed gratitude to the youths for the gift.

He added that what gladdened his mind on this gift was that youths of Isanlu-Isin were engaged in profitable venture like that will bring joy and succour to the community.

The royal father said people must be ready to help themselves as government alone cannot be left to do everything.

He prayed that God will continue to protect the youths and provide for their needs.

Oba Oloyede therefore called on others who have not been part of the group to team up immediately to bring more good things to the community.
