Crystal Palace have identified Brentford’s Frank Onyeka as one of their main transfer targets for the summer window.
According to reports from Africa Foot, the Premier League side are weighing up a €12 million bid for the 27-year-old Nigeria international, as manager Oliver Glasner looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of the new season.
Onyeka has returned to Brentford after spending last season on loan with Bundesliga club Augsburg. During his stint in Germany, he made 26 league appearances and impressed with his work rate and defensive contribution in midfield.
Spanish side Valencia are also reportedly monitoring the situation, but the La Liga outfit are believed to be willing to pay only €7 million for the player — significantly lower than Palace’s valuation.
The midfielder, who joined Brentford from FC Midtjylland in 2021, still has two years left on his contract with the West London club. Brentford are yet to publicly comment on whether they are open to selling him this summer.
If Palace proceed with the deal, Onyeka would become one of several new additions as the club prepares for a competitive Premier League campaign and looks to improve its squad depth.
