2023: Kwara Speaker calls for peaceful co-existence
The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Mr Yakubu Salihu, has enjoined the citizens of the state at home and in Diaspora to imbibe peaceful co-existence in the New Year.

Salihu made the appeal in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Sheu Yusuf, on Sunday in Ilorin.

He urged citizens to welcome the new year with renewed hope and pray to God for continued peaceful co-existence.

“A big congratulation to all the people of our dear state for witnessing the new year, we thank God for what we achieved in the year 2022 and we are also very optimistic for a more prosperous year 2023.

“No doubt there are challenges, as there are in other parts of the country and indeed the entire world, but these are not insurmountable problems.

”I believe that with prayers for our leaders and cooperation with them, we shall continue to have reasons to thank God,” he said.

”I therefore, want to enjoin everyone to continue to be law-abiding and be more patriotic for the greater good of all.

“As lawmakers, be rest assured that we would continue to play our constitutional duties and work with the Executive arm to make sure the best is given to Kwarans.

”On behalf of my colleagues, I say congratulations and happy new year to you all,” the statement read in part.
