A political Chieftain and notable philantropist, Hon. Gbenga Oyekunle Power, has congratulated His Royal Highness, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni, Arepo II, the Elese of Igbaja on the occasion of the celebration of his 96th birthday and 35 years on the reverred throne of Elese.
In a statement issued on Friday, Hon. Power noted that the Royal Father has been a blessing to, not just Igbaja and Irese Land, but indeed to Kwarans at home and in the Diaspora.
While appreciating God Almighty for sparing the life of the first class monarch to witness his 96th birthday in sound health and peace of mind, he also thank God for the great transformation that has taken place in Irese Land since the Kabiyesi ascended the throne of his forebears three and half decades ago.
“It is a thing of joy that Irese Land, under the watch of our Royal Father, has recorded remarkable developments and his reign has witnessed a period of peace and prosperity. Yet, at such advanced age, the Kabiyesi has not relented in his diligent pursuits of his resolve to take his kingdom to the greatest height.”
“On this occasion of the his 96th birthday and 35 years on the throne, it is my prayers that the Almighty God will spare his life in good health and sound mind for many more years as Kabiyesi continues to lead his subjects to greater accomplishments,” the statement concluded.
