BREAKING… Prof. Wale Sulaiman didn’t withdraw from guber race, calls mass turnout at party primaries

Date:

Prof. Wale Sulaiman CON

Our attention has been drawn to unfounded rumours and misleading insinuations making the rounds in certain quarters claiming that Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON has stepped down from the governorship race ahead of the party primaries scheduled for Friday, 22 May 2026.

We wish to categorically state that these claims are entirely false, misleading, and should be disregarded by party faithful, supporters, and the general public.

At no point in the video recently released by Prof. Wale Sulaiman on his social media platforms did he announce or suggest that he had stepped down for anybody.

Such interpretation is a deliberate distortion of his message by individuals bent on creating confusion and unnecessary tension within the political space.

For the avoidance of doubt, the party has directed that all aspirants proceed to the governorship primary election, and Prof. Wale Sulaiman, being a loyal and disciplined party man, fully respects and abides by the directive of the party leadership.

His alignment with the decision and supremacy of the party must not, under any circumstance, be misconstrued as withdrawal from the race.

Prof. Wale Sulaiman remains firmly in the contest and is fully prepared for the primary election slated for tomorrow in Moro.

He therefore calls on his teaming supporters, delegates, and well-wishers across the state to come out massively and vote overwhelmingly for his aspiration and vision for a greater future.

In this era of social media manipulation and political propaganda, it is not unusual for people to insinuate, speculate, and deliberately misinterpret lawful political developments for selfish interests.

However, members of the public are urged to rely only on verified information directly communicated by Prof. Wale Sulaiman and his official campaign structure.

Prof. Wale Sulaiman remains resolutely committed to the ideals of participatory democracy, fairness, inclusion, and due process.

He strongly believes that no aspirant or stakeholder should be disenfranchised or denied the opportunity to test their popularity through a transparent democratic process.

Democracy thrives when every legitimate voice is given the opportunity to be heard at the ballot.

As a statesman and committed democrat, Prof. Wale Sulaiman has consistently demonstrated respect for party supremacy, internal democracy, and institutional processes.

His loyalty to the party and willingness to abide by lawful directives should be seen as a mark of political maturity and discipline and not as an indication of stepping down.

We therefore urge all supporters to remain calm, focused, and resolute. Let no one be distracted by rumours, misinformation, or attempts to dampen the spirit of the movement.

The task ahead remains clear: to mobilise massively for the primary election and deliver a resounding victory for Prof. Wale Sulaiman.

Together, victory is assured.
