A suspected National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member has been arrested in connection with the alleged stabbing of his father, Mr. Adimike Godwin, to death during a domestic dispute at their residence in the Guzape area of Abuja.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night at about 11:12pm after a disagreement between the father and son over the suspect’s alleged late return from a club and concerns about his behaviour. The confrontation was said to have escalated into violence.
Sources also alleged that the dispute may be linked to accusations of mismanagement of business funds. The deceased, who was involved in real estate, had reportedly travelled from Lagos to Abuja to visit his son before the tragic incident occurred.
Neighbours were said to have raised an alarm after hearing distress from the residence and contacted security operatives, but the suspect allegedly fled before police arrived at the scene.
The FCT Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that investigations were ongoing. Spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said the victim was found in a pool of blood and confirmed dead at Karu General Hospital, while five suspects, including a relative, have been taken into custody as part of the investigation.
