The Chairman, Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engr Sulaiman Yahaya Alapansanpa, FNSE, has appealed to the people of Ilorin Emirate and their friends to support his Committee towards organising a befitting upcoming this year’s edition of the Ilorin Emirate Grand Durbar.
Engr Alapansanpa, who is also the Danmasani of Ilorin, made this call on Tuesday while featuring on *Emirate in Focus*, a weekly community development programme of UNILORIN 89.3 FM. The programme was anchored by Mr Abdulkadir Yinka Saliu (Magaji Nda).
The traditional title holder explained that the annual event was resuscitated in 2018 by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji(Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, to promote love and unity among the people of the Emirate.
Engr. Alapansanpa explained that the Committee has commenced its activities for this year, following the endorsement of the Emir.
He assured the people of Ilorin Emirate and tourists from all over the world that this year’s edition would be the best so far as arrangements are being made to ensure the participation of all stakeholders from within and outside Nigeria.
Engr Alapansanpa, who is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Services Management Agency (NEMSA), paid glowing tributes to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, and all those who have been supporting his Committee over the years for their patriotism and generousity as he said that more of such support is being expected to ensure the success of this year’s edition.
