
The Kwara State Government on Tuesday held its 1st Quarter Inter-ministerial press briefing for the year 2025, showcasing some of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration across all the sectors of the state.
The state commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, in her remarks rolled out some of the beeakthroughs of the current administration to cover Infrastructural Development, healthcare, Education, Agriculture and Empowerment through the Kwara Social Investment Programme (KWASIP).
ROYAL NEWS reports that the event was held at the conference room of the State Ministry of Finance, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the state’s progress and future plans.
The gathering was attended by Honourable Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Agencies, General Managers of government parastatals among others.
Olukoju, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdrahman Abdulrazak CON, for his unwavering support and dedication to the people of Kwara State and Nigeria.
She however disclosed that the state is progressing in various areas, showcasing the government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens.
Some of the notable achievements highlighted by Commissioner Olukoju include; commissioning of flyovers, such as the General Tunde Idigbo and Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Unity Flyover, and roads across the three senatorial districts which hashas significantly improved the state’s transportation network.
Others are; “Upgrading of Kwara State Hospitals to Teaching Hospitals, including Kwara State University Teaching Hospital and Al-Hikmah Teaching Hospital which demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the state.
“Distribution of seed crops to over 2,000 farmers across the three senatorial districts. Funding of Kwara State University of Education for full implementation, with admission set to begin this year, and provision of bursaries to students.”
While providing platform for stakeholders to review the state’s progress, discuss challenges, and chart a way forward for future development, the briefing also showcased the government’s transparency and accountability in governance, as well as its commitment to engaging with key stakeholders.
The Commissioner however stressed that the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led government is working accidously to foster collaboration and synergy among government agencies, ministries, and departments, ultimately contributing to the state’s development and growth.
