Controversial Nigerian auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has spoken publicly about being separated from his five children for more than three years.
During an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, IVD claimed he has had no contact with his children since the passing of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, in October 2022.
“They kidnapped my five kids. I’ve not seen them till now. It’s been over three years now. I’ve not seen my kids. I don’t even know how they are doing. I do not talk to them on the phone,” he said.
IVD alleged that his children’s maternal family has prevented him from communicating with them since his wife’s death.
The couple’s 16-year marriage had reportedly been plagued by domestic violence and mutual accusations before it ended tragically in a fire incident at their Lekki residence.
Despite the ongoing family issues, IVD said he has found emotional stability with his current partner, relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.
When asked about rumors of infidelity in his new relationship, IVD firmly denied any wrongdoing. “God forbid. I swear with my life,” he said.
His comments come amid continued public scrutiny following the high-profile death of his wife and the unresolved custody situation involving his children.
Authorities have not issued any public statements regarding the custody dispute or IVD’s allegations against his in-laws.
