The Kano State Government has announced that only emergency service vehicles will be exempt from the intensified traffic law enforcement currently underway across the state.
This development follows the governor’s directive for a rigorous crackdown on traffic violations, aimed at restoring order and improving road safety in the metropolis.
The directive was made public in a statement released on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement, the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been instructed to begin full enforcement of traffic regulations with immediate effect.
The governor clarified that only fire service trucks, ambulances, and security vehicles on active duty will be permitted to bypass traffic rules.
The government further warned that individuals found violating traffic regulations or attempting to hinder the state’s development efforts will face strict legal consequences.
