Nigerian singer Simi has called for sanctions against airport personnel responsible for recording and sharing a video showing Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson’s indecent exposure.
In a post on her Instagram story, Simi questioned why Emmanson was facing punishment for her actions while those who filmed and circulated the video—without blurring private areas—had not been held accountable. She described the act as an invasion of privacy that also warranted legal consequences.
“Someone recorded her being dragged off the plane, exposed like that, and posted it without editing or blurring the footage. I want to know who posted it and why they are not being held accountable,” Simi wrote, stressing that both the passenger’s conduct and the video’s release were wrong.
The incident occurred on Ibom Air Flight Q153, when Emmanson allegedly refused to switch off her phone during takeoff. A confrontation with crew and ground staff ensued, leading to her removal from the aircraft. The video of the altercation quickly spread on social media.
