Former Guinness World Record holder for marathon cooking, Hilda Baci, has announced plans to cook 250 bags of rice in an attempt to set a new world record for the largest pot of jollof.
Baci revealed the project in a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday, explaining that the cooking will take place in a massive 22,619-litre pot.
“I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice,” she said. “The pot is 6 meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and about 1.3 meters deep. I’m sure the pot is not going to sink.”
The event is scheduled for September 12, 2025, and is expected to feed about 10,000 people.
This initiative comes two years after Baci cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes, setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
