Eagles Hold First Training Ahead Gabon Playoff

The Super Eagles have begun preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs, with their first training session scheduled for tonight in Rabat, Morocco.

The team officially opened camp on Sunday ahead of their crucial tie against Gabon’s Panthers.

Already in camp are 10 players, including captain William Troost-Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, and Tolu Arokodare. Other early arrivals include Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Benjamin Fredrick, and Chidozie Awaziem.

The remaining 14 squad members are expected to join the camp later today.

Coach Éric Chelle’s side will face Gabon at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat on Thursday, in the first leg of the playoffs.
