The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, is set to host a joint wedding ceremony for nine of his children, all taking place on the same day in Abuja.
The large-scale marriage ceremony is scheduled for February 6, 2026, and will be held at the Central Mosque, Abuja. Matawalle, who is a former governor of Zamfara State, is expected to host dignitaries and guests from across the country.
Information about the event became public after a general wedding invitation card circulated online, revealing the date and venue of the multiple ceremonies.
Subsequent invitation cards provided further details, including the names of several couples expected to be joined in marriage.
Among those set to wed is Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, a former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, who will marry Nana Bello Matawalle.
Also listed are Ibrahim Sahabi Liman, who is to marry Farida Bello Matawalle, and Yazid Shehu Dan Fulani, who will wed Safiya Bello Matawalle.
Another daughter of the minister, Aisha Bello Matawalle, is scheduled to marry Umar Ibrahim Danmaliki during the same ceremony.
The announcement of the joint wedding has since attracted widespread attention, with many Nigerians reacting to the scale and uniqueness of the event.
