Prominent activist and ADC member Aisha Yesufu has publicly apologised to former Enough is Enough Nigeria Executive Director Yemi Adamolekun over a “mix-up” regarding her inclusion in the party’s Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee. Adamolekun had expressed shock on social media after seeing her name on the committee list without prior consent.
The controversy began on Wednesday when Adamolekun tagged Yesufu and ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi on X, questioning how her name was added to the committee and demanding proof of her party membership. She criticised the party’s process, highlighting a lack of communication and proper verification.
Responding, Abdullahi clarified that the committee was intended to be expert-driven rather than purely partisan. He explained that not all members are ADC members or politicians, and the party conducted a vetting process to ensure that nominees were notified and consented before publication. He also expressed hope that Adamolekun would still serve on the panel due to her experience.
On Friday, Yesufu issued a formal apology to Adamolekun and any other individuals listed on the 50-member panel without prior notification. She admitted the error was “inexcusable” and pledged that the party would improve due diligence in the future, emphasising the importance of following proper procedures while rebuilding Nigeria.
The ADC Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, chaired by former Edo State Governor John Odigie-Oyegun with Prof. Pat Utomi as Deputy Chairman, is tasked with developing a credible policy framework for the party. The committee is set to be formally inaugurated on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
