Reality TV star Tope Adenibuyan, popularly known as Teddy A, has shared the emotional impact of false abuse allegations made against him. In a recent appearance on the WithChude Podcast, Teddy A addressed a social media report claiming he physically abused his wife, actress Bamike “Bambam,” including during her pregnancy.
Teddy A described the allegations as shocking and distressing for both him and his wife. “When they said I was beating my wife, which was a lot. I woke up, went downstairs, my wife was there, she was watching a movie, she was pregnant and laughing,” he said, emphasizing the disconnect between reality and the false reports. He added that the widespread online discussion left them confused and anxious about the origin of the claims.
He recalled seeing notifications flood his phone, realizing the false story was spreading rapidly. “I didn’t drop any content that’s trending. What’s going on, what did I do, or what are they saying now? As I went through the comments, my wife became very emotional and kept asking who did this,” Teddy A said, attributing the misinformation possibly to jealous ex-partners or malicious individuals.
Teddy A also reflected on the decision to initially stay silent, which he said unintentionally affected his reputation. “Even when my wife and I post ourselves, people still comment and ask if I’m sure I don’t beat my wife. Why would they say that? Why on earth would they do that? It affected me because it made people see me in a way that wasn’t true,” he explained, highlighting the lasting impact of false allegations on public perception.
