
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has expressed deep sadness over the demise of a foremost promoter of Islamic da’awah, Hajia Mualimatu Rihanat Arowolo, who died on Sunday 22nd February 2026.
The Emir disclosed that, “The deseased was a distinguished member of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria worldwide, a great Mother, philanthropist par excellence, a prominent member of the Alasalatu Women Group in Kwara State and a mentor to both the old and younger generations of women folks.
In a condolence message issued on Monday by his Press Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir eulogised the virtues of late Mualimatu Arowolo for living an exemplary life of emulation for the many ‘Jihads’ that she did during her lifetime.
While accepting the incident with total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari added that “Mualimatu Arowolo’s demise is a great loss to the entire Muslim Ummah especially, the Ilorin Emirate Muslim women as well as the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria stressing that, “she dedicated her entire life to da’awah and mentorship. Indeed, her death has marked the end of an era in da’awah activities in the Ilorin Emirate. ”
The Emir however sent his heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended family members of late Mualimatu Rihanat Arowolo, Kwara State Muslim Women, the Alasalatu groups who benefited immensely from her guidance, mentorship and religious activities for many decades, the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, as well as the entire Muslim Ummah for the great and irreparable loss.
He therefore prayed Almighty Allah to comfort her families, grant her absolute forgiveness, accept her good deeds and admit her into Aljanatul Firdaus.
