U.S. Missions in Qatar, UAE Issue Security Alerts as Iran Tensions Rise

Date:

United States missions in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have issued urgent security alerts to American citizens following a sharp escalation in tensions with Iran.

The development comes after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that American and Israeli forces carried out military strikes on Iran. Trump warned Iranian forces to lay down their weapons or “face death,” heightening fears of further confrontation.

In a swift retaliatory move, Iran reportedly launched attacks on U.S. military bases in five countries, including Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, widening the scope of the conflict across the Gulf region.

Amid the unfolding situation, the U.S. Embassy in Qatar announced it was implementing a shelter-in-place order for all personnel and advised American citizens in the country to do the same until further notice.

“Find a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items,” the embassy said in a security message.

The advisory also urged Americans to avoid demonstrations, maintain a low profile, monitor local media for updates, keep communication devices charged, and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive security updates.

Similarly, the U.S. Embassy in the United Arab Emirates issued a red alert, warning American citizens to exercise heightened caution as regional tensions continue to escalate.

There was no immediate confirmation of casualties as diplomatic missions and regional authorities moved to tighten security measures.
