The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State chapter has criticized prominent African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Dele Momodu, over his assertion that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could lose the 2027 presidential election if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar contests alongside either Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi.
The state APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described Momodu’s claim as speculative, baseless, and politically unrealistic, arguing that President Tinubu remains firmly on course for victory in 2027.
Oladejo emphasized that potential challengers face internal crises and resistance within their political bases, making any suggestion of an upset “exaggerated” and unsupported by the realities on the ground. He noted that Tinubu’s administration continues to implement reforms aimed at stabilizing the economy, strengthening national security, and advancing sustainable development under the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The APC Lagos spokesperson further stated that opposition efforts, including media speculation and grandstanding, are insufficient to sway the electorate. He stressed that Nigerians are discerning and capable of recognizing genuine leadership and effective governance.
In conclusion, Oladejo reaffirmed the party’s confidence that President Tinubu would maintain broad support, with ongoing reforms deepening progress across key sectors, while urging political actors to focus on constructive national development rather than speculative predictions about elections.
