President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, following a series of deadly terror attacks that have heightened security concerns in the region.
The directive comes in response to recent bomb explosions that resulted in multiple casualties and injuries, sparking fear among residents and drawing national attention to the security situation in northeastern Nigeria.
According to a statement from the presidency, the move is aimed at strengthening coordination among security agencies and ensuring a more effective response to the threat of terrorism. The security chiefs are expected to take direct charge of operations on the ground.
President Tinubu also reiterated his administration’s commitment to combating insecurity across the country, assuring Nigerians that efforts would be intensified to track down and eliminate those responsible for the attacks.
He further urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies, emphasizing that restoring peace and safeguarding lives and property remain top priorities for his government.
