The quarter-final line-up for the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco is now complete following Algeria’s dramatic Round of 16 victory over DR Congo. In Rabat, substitute Anis Boulbina scored in the 119th minute to secure a 1–0 extra-time win, setting up a highly anticipated clash with Nigeria. The Super Eagles had earlier advanced with a commanding 4–0 win against Mozambique, with Victor Osimhen netting a brace.
Other teams joining the last eight include Senegal, Mali, hosts Morocco, Cameroon, and Egypt. Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire became the final quarter-finalists after a 3–0 victory over Burkina Faso in Marrakesh, with goals from Amad Diallo, Yan Diomandé, and Bamba Touré. The Elephants will face Egypt as they aim to defend their title.
