Amorim Eases Fears Over Fernandes Injury

Date:

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has assured fans that “everything is fine” with Bruno Fernandes following their 2-1 comeback victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Jean-Philippe Mateta’s first-half penalty put Palace ahead, but United responded strongly after the break, with goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount completing the turnaround. Fernandes provided the assists for both goals.

Late in the match, the United captain went down after a heavy challenge, sparking worries about a possible injury ahead of the upcoming clash with West Ham. Fernandes was later seen in a lengthy discussion with members of the coaching staff, further fuelling speculation.

However, Amorim dismissed any injury concerns, telling TNT Sports that the midfielder only suffered a minor knock.

“It was a kick,” Amorim said. “I was shouting at him; we made a substitution in the end. He needed to talk to the bench, but he said it was just a kick, so everything is okay.”
