B-O-M-B-S-H-E-L-L: Tinubu’s govt don’t have people with credibility– Emir Sanusi

Date:

The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has once again criticised the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government saying it does not have people with credibility who can explain things to the people.

He also declared his unwillingness to provide insights or solutions to Nigeria’s economic challenges.

Sanusi spoke at the 21st anniversary of Fawehinmiism in Lagos on Wednesday.

He criticised government’s approach to economic policies and its inability to present credible explanations to the public.

The monarch stated that while the nation’s current economic situation was foreseeable and possibly avoidable, he has deliberately refrained from addressing it.

He attributed his decision to a reluctance to assist the government, expressing dissatisfaction with the administration’s conduct.

He also emphasised the need for government officials to take responsibility and explain their policy decisions directly to Nigerians.

Sanusi said, “To be honest, I can stand here today and give a few points that explain, perhaps, what we are going through, how it was totally predictable and maybe avoidable, but I’m not going to do that.

“I have chosen not to speak about the economy and the report or even explain anything because, if I speak, it is going to help the government, and I don’t want to help the government. I don’t want to help this government.

“They are my friends, but if they don’t behave like friends, I won’t behave like a friend. They don’t even have people with credibility who can come and explain what they are doing. I’m not going to help. I’m not going to discuss it. Let them come and explain to Nigerians why the policies that are being pursued are being pursued.“
