
Professor Haruna Musa Dambatta has emerged as the new Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano.
ROYAL NEWS reports that the varsity don scored 853 votes to defeat Prof.Mahmud Sani who sored 367, Prof.Muhammad Sani Gumel 364 votes, Prof.Idris Adamu Tanko 161 votes and Prof. Muhammad Bashir Fagge who scored 18 votes.
Dambatta was until his appointment the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) at Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
He is also a Professor of Polymer Chemistry and has published extensively in his field. Prior to his current position, he served as Head of Department and was involved in curriculum development and university-wide policy and academic planning.
He also has experience as Deputy Director at the Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainability Transitions.
