Emmanuella, the former partner and mother of Carter Efe’s child, has publicly responded to the skit maker’s recent claims about their separation, saying she was shocked and hurt by his decision to air details of their private life online.
Carter Efe had announced on Sunday that the relationship ended more than a year ago, citing emotional strain, financial pressure and a decline in his creativity. He described the separation as painful, particularly due to being away from his child.
In her response, Emmanuella rejected his narrative and accused him of being controlling throughout their relationship. She alleged that he prevented her from working and discouraged her ambition to pursue a career in acting.
She further claimed that Efe restricted her social interactions, blocked her female friends and family members, and threatened to shut down her social media accounts. According to her, he warned that he would label her a prostitute online and ensure she lost her platform.
Emmanuella said she was especially surprised by Efe’s posts, noting that they had been together just three days before the claims were made public. She also denied allegations of prostitution and alleged that Efe only provided financial support for their child when she explicitly asked.
“You stopped me from working. I wanted to become an actress, but Carter didn’t want that. I had to kill that dream,” she wrote in an Instagram post, adding that she felt isolated from friends and family during the relationship.
The public exchange has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with fans and commentators weighing in on the personal dispute, while neither party has indicated whether the matter will be addressed privately going forward.
