The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on Tuesday extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-ul-Kabir Sallah celebration.
In a statement issued by his Spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described Eid-ul-Kabir as a profound reminder of faith, sacrifice, and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and his son Prophet Ismail.
He stated that the festival requires Muslims to uphold the values of obedience, humility, generosity, and unity in their personal lives and in their dealings with others.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari also commended the people of Ilorin Emirate for their enduring commitment to peace, religious harmony, and community development. He urged residents to use the celebration to further strengthen family bonds, foster neighborliness, and extend support to the less privileged in society.
The Emir offered special prayers for all Nigerian pilgrims currently performing Hajj in the Holy Land of Saudi Arabia. He prayed that Almighty Allah grant them a peaceful and accepted Hajj, forgive their sins, and return them safely to their families in good health and with abundant reward.
He further prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Kwara State and Nigeria. He asked Almighty Allah to guide leaders, protect the people, and bless the nation with stability and development.
