CHIEF KOLA IDONIJE, AN AMAZING GENTLEMAN (Feb. 1960- Dec. 2023)
Late Chief Kola Idonije
This tribute is not to praise late Uncle Kola in anyway but it is an attempt to meditate on his lifetimes and how amazing he was in his dealings with the people.
I got married to his wife’s niece but my relationship with him and his entire family will no doubt proof me wrong because I always relate with him just like my biological brother.
As a young man that I am, he advised me on choosing a career that will not only earn me money, but something that will also enable me to make valuable contributions to the society. Infact, there was a day that he put me in his car to visit some of his friends in order to secure an appointment for me.
When the search for the appointment failed, he advised me to continue with my work as a journalist but he never stopped at that, he continued to monitor my progress. With that singular effort, I shall never forget him in my life.
Uncle K was exceptionally humble, hardworking, tolerant and amiable to everyone that crossed his paths. May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and comfort his family.
He has a large heart, God-fearing and accommodating to a fault. He cannot even hurt a fly not to talk of injuring a fellow human being.
The world will surely miss him for the good deeds that he showered onto humanity therein.
Icommiserate with his widow,Princess Jummai Idonije, a former Special Adviser to the immediate past Minister for Women Affairs, his amiable children, friends, associates and sympathisers over the unfortunate incidence.
We all accept the verdict of God but we pray that his soul find the favour and mercies of the Lord.
Uncle K, continue to rest in peace until we all meet again
