American singer Chris Brown has called on fans and industry observers to stop comparing him with other artists, insisting his journey and work ethic are unique.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the R&B star expressed frustration over repeated comparisons, saying no artist should be measured against him unless they’ve faced the same challenges.

“I wish y’all stop comparing me to other artists and saying me vs someone else,” he wrote. “Until one of these artists do all this sh*t by themselves with no help and the media constantly messing with them, then come holla at me.”

Brown emphasized that he has remained consistent in the music industry for two decades, highlighting the personal and professional obstacles he’s overcome.

He noted that, for him, making music is not just a passion but a means of survival.

Over the years, Brown has frequently been compared to industry legends and peers alike, including Michael Jackson, Usher, T-Pain, Trey Songz, Mario, Akon, and Nelly—especially for his singing and dancing abilities.

Despite the comparisons, Brown maintains that his career trajectory stands apart due to the lack of external support and persistent media scrutiny.

The artist, known for hits like Under the Influence, has often used social media to express unfiltered opinions about his career and public perception.

Brown’s comments add to ongoing debates about legacy, influence, and authenticity in the music industry.
