Some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars are set to dominate the festive season as Lagos and Abuja prepare for a December filled with major live performances.
At the Nigerian Breweries Legendary Christmas Press Cocktail, organisers unveiled a star-studded lineup featuring some of the continent’s most influential artists.
Davido will headline the Abuja festivities with his 5ive Alive Tour on December 14 at Eagle Square. The award-winning singer, known for his high-energy performances, is expected to draw massive crowds for what is billed as one of the capital’s biggest shows of 2024.
In Lagos, anticipation is building for Flytime Fest, which runs from December 22 to 25. The four-day event opens with highlife star Flavour, whose live shows consistently attract large audiences.
Day two features rap icon Olamide, whose decade-long catalogue of hits has cemented his influence on contemporary Nigerian music.
Afrobeats sensation Asake will headline day three. His rapid rise and energetic performances have made him one of the most in-demand acts of the season. Davido returns on Christmas Day to close out the festival in what organisers promise will be a memorable finale.
December’s entertainment calendar also includes Detty Dec Fest, which runs until December 31, giving fans additional opportunities to connect with the month’s cultural events.
Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing and Communication at Nigerian Breweries Plc, said the company was committed to elevating the festive experience. “Heineken has always been at the heart of cultural moments that connect people, and this December we’re proud to elevate the festive energy on two of the biggest stages in Nigeria,” she said.
With top-tier performers headlining multiple events across both cities, this year’s December celebrations are shaping up to be among the most star-studded in recent memory.
