Former Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday arrived at the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna for his arraignment over alleged corruption-related offences filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The anti-graft agency had earlier announced plans to arraign the former governor on March 24, 2026, under suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, over multiple charges including conversion and possession of public property and money laundering.
According to the commission, the charges also include alleged abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage.
Security was tightened around the court premises ahead of the proceedings as operatives were deployed to maintain order during the high-profile trial.
The arraignment marks a significant development in the legal proceedings involving the former Kaduna State governor, who has faced a series of investigations in recent months over alleged financial misconduct during and after his tenure in office.
