El-Rufai: Southern Kaduna Declares Support For Tinubu Ahead Of 2027

Nasir El-Rufai

The Southern Kaduna Support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured President Tinubu of block votes following his support to the region.

The group stated this following the defection of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and his move to form a coalition to unseat the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The group, in a statement, said that prior to President Tinubu’s emergence, the region suffered neglect, insecurity, economic hardship, and political manipulation.

“With President Tinubu’s emergence and the collaborative efforts of Governor Uba Sani, we have witnessed transformational policies that have given us renewed hope for a more secure and prosperous future,” it said.

The group, in a statement by the National Coordinator, Dr. Joseph G. Ibrahim, and the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Victor Bobai Mathew, said President Tinubu demonstrated his trust in Southern Kaduna by appointing its illustrious son, General CG Musa, as the Chief of Defence Staff.

“This appointment is a testament to our region’s contributions to nation-building and a strategic move toward ensuring security and stability,” it said.

The group said President Tinubu’s approval and construction of a military barrack in Samaru Kataf was a game-changer.

“For years, Southern Kaduna was plagued by insecurity, making life unbearable for farmers, traders, and families.

This permanent security presence will deter attacks, enhance safety, and restore confidence among our people,” it said.

It also highlighted that access to quality healthcare has long been a challenge in Southern Kaduna however, the approval of a Federal Medical Center in Kafanchan by President Tinubu was a major milestone.

“This will significantly improve healthcare services, reduce maternal and infant mortality, and enhance the overall well-being of our people,” it noted.

The group further hailed President Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia is a historic step, adding that for decades, Southern Kaduna was marginalized in education development. . “This institution will provide quality education, skill development, and create employment opportunities for our youth,”.

According to the group, President Tinubu’s leadership has witnessed a remarkable improvement in security, allowing farmers to return to their lands.

“ The proactive security strategies by the Nigerian Armed Forces, led by General CG Musa, have ensured that farmers and business owners can operate without fear.

With improved security and infrastructure, Southern Kaduna is experiencing a business revival. Traders, entrepreneurs, and investors now have the confidence to expand their businesses, leading to job creation and economic prosperity,”.

“Southern Kaduna is proud to have General CG Musa leading Nigeria’s military at a crucial time. It is our duty to support him and the government that gave him the platform to serve. Supporting APC at both the state and federal levels is not just a political decision—it is a statement of our unity, patriotism, and commitment to national progress,” it said.

It noted that Governor Uba Sani has shown great dedication to the development of Kaduna State, particularly Southern Kaduna, adding that his collaboration with General CG Musa has yielded significant gains in infrastructure and security. “We will continue to stand by him to ensure that he completes his good works for the state,” he said.
