Faleke Denies Kogi One-Term Deal Claim

Date:

A member of the House of Representatives, James Abiodun Faleke, has denied claims that he was involved in an alleged one-term governorship agreement in Kogi State, describing the report as false and misleading.

Faleke, who represents the Ikeja Federal Constituency, refuted the allegation in a statement posted on his verified X account, reacting to a report by online platform TrackNews that linked him to a purported directive involving former Governor Yahaya Bello and incumbent Governor Usman Ododo.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I state unequivocally that I never had any discussion, nor was I privy to any conversation, arrangement or agreement regarding a one-term deal in Kogi State or any related matter,” the lawmaker said, stressing that he had no involvement, directly or indirectly, in any discussions about the Kogi governorship.

He said the report sparked widespread reactions and inquiries, prompting his response to set the record straight, and urged the public to disregard the story entirely while calling on media platforms to verify information before publication to avoid misleading the public and creating unnecessary political tension.
