A fire outbreak on Tuesday destroyed properties worth millions of naira at a residential building in the Papa, Surulere area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The incident occurred at Ile-Gbogi, according to local sources.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, said the fire affected part of a six-room residential building but was swiftly contained.
“Upon arrival, our team met the first room on the left wing of the building already engulfed in flames. We immediately swung into action and extinguished the fire in a short time,” Akinwande said in a statement issued Wednesday morning.
