FRSC Ogun Public Education Officer Florence Okpe Dies

Date:

Florence Okpe, Chief Route Commander and Public Education Officer of the Ogun State sector command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has passed away.

The death was confirmed on Tuesday by the State Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, who said Okpe had been battling illness before her demise.

“She had been receiving medical attention here in Ogun and was later granted leave to travel to her hometown in Cross River State, where she eventually passed away,” Fasakin told our correspondent.

Fasakin described Okpe as a dedicated and professional officer. “Okpe was an enigma—resourceful, committed, and an officer of unparalleled dedication. Her passing is a profound loss for the command,” he said.

He added, “She was very dear to me personally, and it has been a sad day since we received the news of her death.”

Okpe had previously served as the command’s image maker, playing a key role in public education and awareness campaigns for road safety in Ogun State.

The sector command extended condolences to her family and friends, praying for strength to bear the loss.

“The command commiserates with her loved ones and prays that the Almighty God grants all of us the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Fasakin said.

Her colleagues remember her as a committed officer who significantly contributed to FRSC’s public outreach and educational initiatives.

Okpe’s death marks a somber moment for the Ogun State FRSC, where she was widely respected for her professionalism and dedication.
