
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed deep condolences to the government and people of Ogun State over the passing of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on July 14, the Governor described the late monarch as a revered traditional ruler whose reign transformed royal leadership and elevated the cultural identity of the Ijebu people.
Governor AbdulRazaq hailed Oba Adetona’s over six decades of dedicated service, noting his exceptional courage, dignity, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people. He said the late Awujale stood as a unifying figure and a symbol of honour and prestige.
He extended his sympathies to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Ijebu people, and the royal family, urging them to take solace in the enduring legacies left behind by the monarch.
The Governor prayed to Allah to grant the late Oba Adetona eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
