Singer Chike Opens Up About Marriage and Career Standards

Date:

Popular Nigerian singer Chike has revealed the marriage advice his mother gave him, emphasizing that he should avoid marrying women who do not add value to his life. In a recent interview on Ada’s Room podcast, Chike explained that love alone is not enough; financial stability and productivity in a partner are equally important.

The 33-year-old singer disclosed that his mother specifically advised him not to marry from poor families or women whose relatives are financially dependent on them. According to Chike, such marriages could create unnecessary financial burdens.

“I think everybody should look for a partner that has value. Personally, my mum advised me never to settle down with a woman who doesn’t have a source of livelihood regardless of love,” he said, stressing the importance of independence and productivity in a spouse.

Chike further noted that his mother cautioned him against marrying women carrying heavy family responsibilities, particularly firstborns who are not self-sufficient. He said he often evaluates potential partners to ensure they come from comfortable backgrounds and are financially responsible before committing to a relationship.

The singer concluded by advising men to consider factors beyond physical attraction when choosing a partner. He emphasized that men should carefully assess compatibility, family background, and a partner’s ability to contribute to a stable and productive household before pursuing relationships with marriage potential.
